🔴Live: Vice President Election 2025 Live: Counting underway after 96% turnout recorded by 3 pm; results expected soon.

Vice President Election 2025: Voting began at 10 am on Tuesday, with PM Modi casting the first ballot. The election is through secret ballot, and MPs are not bound by whips.
The electoral college has 781 MPs, with the majority mark at 391. The NDA holds 425 MPs, giving its nominee, C.P. Radhakrishnan, a clear edge over opposition candidate B. Sudershan Reddy, a former Supreme Court judge. YSRCP is backing the NDA, while BRS and BJD are abstaining.
Radhakrishnan, 67, is a BJP veteran and current Maharashtra Governor. Reddy, 79, is known for landmark rulings, including his 2011 judgment striking down Salwa Judum. The opposition is framing the contest as ideological, while Reddy has appealed to MPs to vote by conscience.
