In a powerful sermon at Masjid-e-Abuzar Gifari in Bilal Khand, Moulana Abdul Ahad Fakarde issued a grave warning against intoxicants, describing their spread as a deliberate conspiracy to weaken Muslim youth physically, morally, and spiritually.

The scholar emphasized that Islam strictly prohibits all intoxicating substances—whether called alcohol, drugs, or disguised as chocolates, candies, or perfumes—stating they destroy the mind, faith, and social fabric.

Key Points from the Sermon:

  • Slow Poison: The Maulana described modern intoxicants as “slow poison” that hollow out the body and soul, comparing addicted youth to wood eaten by termites—strong on the outside, empty within.
  • Parental Responsibility: He urged parents to monitor what children buy and consume, noting that many unknowingly fund their children’s addiction by purchasing harmful products marketed as sweets or school supplies.
  • Danger of Bad Company: The sermon highlighted the role of peer pressure, warning youth to avoid friends or acquaintances who consume such substances, as “a person is upon the religion of their close friends.”
  • Spiritual Consequences: He reminded listeners that faith and intoxicants cannot coexist in one heart, and those addicted risk dying without faith—the greatest loss.

The sermon concluded with a call for God-consciousness (Taqwa) and mindfulness of the afterlife, urging the community to protect itself and future generations from this existential threat.
