Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also shared a heartfelt statement, reflecting on the UAE’s own youthful spirit and ambition. Addressing young Emiratis as the “fuel, spirit, and driving force” of progress, he promised continuing support to create an environment where youth can thrive.

International Youth Day, celebrated globally on August 12, commemorates the launch of the first International Youth Year in 2010. Each year, the day emphasizes the role of young people as symbols of hope and innovation for the future.

This year, the United Nations chose the theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” encouraging youth to help turn national goals into reality. The UAE has a history of marking this day through programs like the Youth Council for Government Talents, set up last year to motivate and involve young citizens in public service.
