A two-day seminar focusing on the life and services of Murshid al-Ummah, Maulana Syed Muhammad Rabey Hasani Nadwi (RA), began on Wednesday morning at Jamia Islamia Bhatkal. The event was organized by the student body Al-Lajna Al-Arabia and attended by a large gathering of scholars, teachers, community elders, and students.

Inaugurating the seminar, the principal of Jamia, Maulana Maqbool Ahmad Nadwi, shed light on the purpose of organizing the event. He said that Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadwi had rendered invaluable services to Jamia Islamia and the people of Bhatkal. He reminded that the late scholar had maintained a close and continuous relationship with Jamia since the time of Maulana Ali Miyan Nadwi (RA), and his guidance had greatly contributed to the institution’s progress.

After the passing of Maulana Ali Miyan, Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadwi was included among the patrons of Jamia, further strengthening this bond. Maulana Maqbool Nadwi noted that it was the duty of the Jamia to acquaint the younger generation with the scholarly and reformative contributions of Maulana Rabey, which led Al-Lajna Al-Arabia to propose this seminar an idea warmly welcomed by the Jamia administration and teachers.

He also paid tribute to the founders and early supporters of Jamia, recalling that the first Director of Education, Maulana Abdul Hameed Nadwi (RA), introduced the Fazilat (advanced Islamic studies) curriculum at a time when Jamia had only one teacher and one student. Today, by the grace of Allah, that humble beginning has transformed into a flourishing institution active in various academic and service fields.

Maulana Maqbool Nadwi further mentioned that Maulana Abrar-ul-Haq Haqqi (RA) and Maulana Muinullah Nadwi were also among the patrons who played key roles in the Jamia’s development. He made a special mention of Maulana Abdul Aziz Nadwi, Deputy Rector of Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow, for serving as a strong link between Nadwa and Jamia Islamia, and for delivering the valuable advice of Maulana Rabey to Bhatkal.

In the first session, students presented academic and intellectual papers on the lives and educational contributions of Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadwi (RA) and his brother, Maulana Syed Muhammad Wazeh Rashid Nadwi (RA). Their presentations reflected dedication, effort, and scholarly talent.

The program began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Ismail Afham, followed by naat rendered by Abdul Hadi. The session was hosted by Muhammad Salik and Anuf Kadpadi. The program was presided over by Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi, President of Jamia Islamia.

Prominent scholars on the stage included Maulana Syed Bilal Hasani Nadwi (Rector of Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow), Maulana Umair Siddiq Nadwi (Associate of Darul Musannifeen Azamgarh), Maulana Talha Ruknuddin Nadwi (Director of Jamia), and Master Shafi Shah Bandri Patel (Vice President of Jamia).
