Trump Says Lebanon Not Included in Ceasefire as 89 Killed in Israeli Strikes
Former US president calls Lebanon conflict a separate issue amid rising death toll

At least 89 people have been killed following a wave of Israeli attacks across Lebanon, in one of the deadliest escalations in recent weeks. The strikes have heightened fears of a broader regional conflict as tensions continue to rise.
Amid the ongoing violence, former US President Donald Trump said that Lebanon is not part of the recently announced two week ceasefire agreement. Speaking to a PBS White House correspondent, Trump explained that the exclusion was linked to the presence of Hezbollah in Lebanon.
He added that the situation involving Hezbollah would be dealt with separately, suggesting a different approach from the ceasefire arrangement. When asked about Israel’s attacks on Lebanon, Trump described the situation as a separate skirmish, distancing it from the broader pause in fighting.
The latest developments underline the fragile state of the ceasefire and raise questions about how long stability in the region can hold, as violence continues outside the agreement.
