Washington: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has reiterated his claims of playing a key role in preventing major global conflicts during his presidency, saying he helped stop eight wars, including a possible confrontation between India and Pakistan. He stressed that his actions were not aimed at winning the Nobel Peace Prize, but were focused on “saving lives.”

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday, Trump built on earlier statements where he had said he resolved seven conflicts. He now adds the Israel-Gaza war to the list, bringing the total to eight.

“This will be my eighth war that I have solved,” Trump said. He also referred to rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, suggesting he might intervene there as well. “I hear there is a war now going on between Pakistan and Afghanistan. I said, I’ll have to wait till I get back. I’m doing another one. Because I’m good at solving wars. I’m good at making peace,” he added.

Trump claimed that some of the conflicts he helped resolve had dragged on for years, but were addressed during his time in office within just a few days. However, he did not provide specific details or evidence about his role in defusing the India-Pakistan situation or others on his list.

While Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize multiple times, he never received the award. He dismissed the idea that he ever sought it.

“To be fair to the Nobel Committee, this one was for 2024,” he said. “I didn’t do it for the Nobel. I did it to save lives.”

Trump has often highlighted his foreign policy record, citing peace deals in the Middle East and diplomatic talks with North Korea, but many of his claims have been questioned for lack of transparency or follow-through.
