US President Donald Trump has once again claimed credit for ending eight major wars during his presidency, including what he describes as a serious conflict between India and Pakistan.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Trump discussed his foreign policy achievements and questioned why he hasn’t received the Nobel Peace Prize for his diplomatic work.

“I ended eight wars. If you look at those wars, these were tough wars to end, too. India and Pakistan were going at it. That was one of eight. Some of these wars had been going on for more than 30 years,” Trump told the newspaper.

The President emphasized that no other leader has ended as many conflicts as he has. He also criticized former President Barack Obama, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, shortly after taking office.

“I’ve ended eight wars. Nobody else has ever done that, and I didn’t get the Nobel Peace Prize. Pretty amazing. Obama got it after just a few weeks in office. He didn’t even know why he got it. When they asked him, he couldn’t answer the question,” Trump said.

This marks the third time in one week that Trump has mentioned his role in stopping the India-Pakistan conflict. According to reports, he has made this claim approximately 80 times since May 10 last year, when he announced on social media that both countries had agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire following talks mediated by the United States.

However, India has consistently rejected any claims of third-party involvement in its bilateral matters with Pakistan.

During a White House meeting with oil and gas executives on Friday, Trump provided more details about his claim. “Whether people like Trump or don’t like Trump, I settled eight wars, big ones. Some were going on for 36 years, 32 years, 31 years. Some were just getting ready to start, like India and Pakistan, where eight jets were already shot out of the air. I got it done quickly without nuclear weapons being used,” he stated.

Trump also mentioned that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who visited the White House last year, publicly thanked him for his intervention. According to Trump, the Pakistani leader said that the President “saved a minimum of 10 million lives” by preventing a full-scale war between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

In an earlier interview with Fox News, Trump described the situation between India and Pakistan as extremely serious. “These are two nuclear countries ready to go at it big. Eight planes were shot down. They were really at it, and I got it stopped. It was a big one,” he said.

Trump suggested that stopping each war should deserve a separate Nobel Peace Prize, given the length and complexity of these conflicts.

While Trump continues to highlight these achievements, questions remain about the accuracy of some details, particularly regarding the India-Pakistan situation, as official sources from India have not confirmed the incidents or mediation he describes.
