Tragedy in Bantwal: Pedestrian Killed in Auto-Rickshaw Collision
A 44-year-old man has died from his injuries after being struck by an over-speeding vehicle while crossing a road in Kalladka.

Bantwal, October 3: A man lost his life on Friday after being hit by an auto-rickshaw at Amtur Cross in the Bantwal taluk. Police have identified the deceased as Lokesh Moolya, 44, a resident of Subhash Nagar in Sajipa Mooda village.
According to reports, Mr. Moolya was crossing the road near a Nayara petrol pump when an over-speeding auto-rickshaw struck him. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which then overturned on the road.
Mr. Moolya sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru for treatment. Unfortunately, he passed away in the early hours of the morning.
The driver of the auto-rickshaw was traveling with his wife, children, and father-in-law. All passengers escaped the incident without harm.
Lokesh Moolya was known in his community as an active member of the Sri Sharada Pooja Mahotsava Committee and was involved in many local social and religious activities. He is survived by his wife and two children.
