Three Detained for Alleged Ganja Consumption in Public Areas of Bhatkal
Police take action after spotting individuals using narcotics in open locations across the taluk

Bhatkal police have detained three individuals in separate incidents for allegedly consuming ganja in public places across the taluk. The action follows routine patrol checks in different parts of the area.
According to officials, the cases were reported from Heble Jamiabad and near Jagtebail Ground in Venkatapur. Police personnel, who were on duty in these locations, noticed suspicious activity and approached the individuals for verification.
During the checks, the accused were found to have consumed a narcotic substance. They were later subjected to medical examinations, which confirmed the presence of ganja.
The detained individuals have been identified as Asif K.A., aged 26, Bilal Ahmed, aged 36, and Mohammad Rasool, aged 34.
Police have registered cases at the Rural Police Station based on complaints filed by Sub Inspectors Mallikarjun Korani and Bharamappa Belagali. Authorities stated that further investigation into the incidents is currently underway.
