Three Arrested in Mangaluru for Communal Assault and Attempted Murder
Police detain trio after victim was allegedly targeted with religious slurs and attacked with wooden club in Kuloor village

Mangaluru – Three men have been taken into custody by Mangaluru police following a violent assault that left one person seriously injured after being subjected to communal abuse.
The incident took place on January 11 within the jurisdiction of Kavoor police station. According to authorities, the victim was forcibly stopped by the accused, who questioned him about his religion before launching a verbal and physical attack.
Police reports indicate that the accused hurled derogatory slurs at the victim based on his religious identity before beating him with a wooden club. The assault was severe enough to constitute an attempted murder charge.
The victim filed a formal complaint the following day, on January 12, prompting Kavoor police to register a case and begin their investigation.
The three arrested individuals have been identified as Ratheesh Das, 32, Dhanush, 24, and Sagar, 24. All three are residents of Kuloor village in Mangaluru taluk.
Senior officers from the Mangaluru North Sub-Division oversaw the arrest operation. The accused are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the current condition of the victim or whether he required hospitalization following the attack.
