Tension Near Mosque in Hyderabad After Sloganeering During Taraweeh
Police intervene swiftly after brief confrontation during Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti procession.

Hyderabad: A brief period of tension was reported near a mosque in Hyderabad on Saturday night after sloganeering took place during Taraweeh prayers.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 10 pm when some participants in a Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti procession raised slogans while Taraweeh prayers were underway at a nearby mosque. Worshippers who had stepped out of the mosque noticed the situation and returned, gathering in front of the mosque and raising slogans in response.
The exchange of slogans continued for about five minutes before police personnel stationed in the area intervened and dispersed both groups.
To prevent any escalation, additional police forces were immediately deployed to the spot. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Secunderabad Zone) Rakshita Murthy later arrived at the scene and held discussions with local Muslim community leaders, urging them to maintain peace.
She stated that the situation began with sloganeering by a few individuals and that an investigation is underway. The DCP also appealed to the public not to pay attention to rumours, assuring that the situation is now under control and peaceful.
