Team VoltEdge from Ali Public PU College Wins Community Champions Award at National Robotics League 2025
Six students from Ali Public Pre-University College earn prestigious recognition at IIT Bombay's premier robotics competition

A team of six students from Ali Public Pre-University College in Bhatkal has brought pride to their community by winning the Community Champions Award at the National Robotics League (NRL) 2025, held at the prestigious IIT Bombay.
Team VoltEdge, comprising Omer S/O Taseem Ruknuddin, Abdullah Saami S/O Mohammed Abdul Jaleel Sada, Mohammed Zaid Fareed S/O Zameer Ahmed Fareed, Mohiddin Ahmed S/O Mudassir Ahmed Motiya, Shamveel Bukhari S/O Abdul Rahim Khateeb, and Ahmed Irfan S/O Mohammed Sajid Akrami, was the only team representing Bhatkal at this national-level competition.
Under the guidance of their mentor Mr. Nuhail Damudi, the Ali Public PU College team competed against more than 600 students from over 100 teams, representing 65 schools across 14 locations throughout India.
The National Robotics League 2025 is among India’s largest robotics competitions for students. Organized by IIT Bombay in partnership with The Innovation Story, and supported by Param Capital, IISc Bengaluru, and ARTPARK, the event provided a platform for young innovators to showcase their skills through robot challenges, project presentations, judge interviews, and team-based activities.
One of the most memorable moments for Team VoltEdge came when Samir Kumar, Country Manager of Amazon India, visited their work area. He spoke with the students, asked questions about their project, and praised their confidence and innovative thinking. The team described this interaction as a major source of encouragement.
The team also received attention from Plaksha University representatives, who visited their project display and were impressed by their work. The university team returned the following day with additional members for more detailed discussions and even explored potential future study opportunities with the students.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for both Ali Public PU College and Bhatkal, demonstrating that students from the region can compete and excel at the national level. The recognition received from industry leaders and academic institutions reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion of these young engineers.

Their success serves as an inspiration for other students in the community who aspire to explore the fields of robotics, technology, and innovation.
