Special Gathering in Dubai Honours Maulana Abdul Mateen Muniri for Nearly Five Decades of Scholarly and Religious Service
The event, organised by Abna-e-Jamia Dubai, paid tribute to Maulana’s lifelong dedication to Islamic scholarship, education, and literary preservation.
Bhatkal (Fikrokhabar News): A special event was held last night after Isha at the residence of Maulana Abdul Muaz Muniri Nadwi in honour of Maulana Abdul Mateen Muniri, recognising his nearly 50 years of scholarly, religious, and intellectual service. The gathering was organised by Abna-e-Jamia Dubai, who presented a letter of appreciation to Maulana Muniri as a token of respect and gratitude.
In the address of appreciation, Maulana’s lifelong journey of service was highlighted — from beginning his teaching career at Jamia Islamia Bhatkal in 1974, to moving to the United Arab Emirates in 1979, where he spent 46 years contributing to various educational and research institutions.
During his time in the UAE, Maulana served in esteemed organisations such as the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Awqaf, Juma Al-Majid Center for Culture and Heritage, and the Dubai Awqaf Department, playing a significant role in promoting Islamic scholarship and preserving cultural heritage. His deep connection with books, his efforts to enrich libraries with rare collections, and his regular participation in Sharjah and Dubai International Book Fairs were noted as hallmarks of his lifelong passion for learning.
Maulana also made remarkable contributions through digital platforms, using social media to spread knowledge and Islamic thought. His initiatives through websites like Bhathkallys.com, Urduaudios.com, and Ilm-o-Kitab have made valuable educational and intellectual resources accessible to the wider community.
Known for his devotion to reading, Maulana spends most of his time immersed in books. His keen interest in biographical writing, refined literary taste, humility, discipline, and soft-spoken nature have earned him admiration from students and peers alike. His personality beautifully combines knowledge, wisdom, sincerity, dignity, and service — qualities that inspire affection and respect wherever he goes.
The event was attended by a large number of well-wishers.
