Rising Threat of Cybercrime

The police chief explained how cybercrimes are becoming more common and sophisticated. He warned that fraudsters are increasingly using fake identities on social media and messaging platforms to befriend unsuspecting victims before cheating them out of their money.

SP Deepan shared real-life examples of online fraud cases to help students and community members understand how these crimes work. He advised everyone to stay alert and cautious while using the internet.

Dangers of Drug Addiction

Speaking about drug abuse, the SP said that addiction often starts when someone feels frustrated or loses interest in life. He explained that substances like cigarettes, alcohol, and marijuana might seem harmless at first, but they slowly push people toward destruction.

“Stay away from bad company and choose friends who inspire positive change in your life,” SP Deepan urged the youth.

Community Leaders Call for Action

The program was jointly organized by several local organizations including Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem, Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, Islah-e-Muashira Committee, Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation, Uttara Kannada District Police, and Bhatkal Town Police. The event took place at Anjuman College Hall.

Maulana Ansar Khateeb Madani, Deputy Qazi of Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen Bhatkal, who attended as guest of honour, emphasized that all intoxicants are harmful to health. He described alcohol using the Arabic term “Ummul Khaba’is,” meaning “the mother of all evils.”

Maulana Madani called on youth and community leaders to take concrete steps against these social problems. “If we remain silent, society will continue to fall apart. The fire is already burning—we must act now to put it out,” he warned.
