Siddaramaiah: BJP Misleading Public by Opposing Socio-Economic Survey
Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for opposing the state-wide social, educational, and economic survey. He accused the party of trying to mislead the public and said their slogan of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Together with all, development for all) has now been exposed.
Speaking to the media, Siddaramaiah stated that BJP leaders are openly calling for a boycott of the survey. “This survey is not for a single caste or religion. It is meant to understand the social, educational, and economic conditions of all seven crore people in Karnataka,” the Chief Minister clarified. He stressed that the survey’s goal is to support everyone, not to target any community.
Siddaramaiah explained that the government aims to establish social equality and provide fair opportunities for all citizens through this survey. He accused the BJP of having a “Manuvadi mindset” that wishes to keep the poor, backward classes, and women deprived of opportunities.
He added that the survey will reveal the conditions of not just Dalits, backward classes, and minorities, but also the poor and underprivileged sections within the forward castes. “This is the truth that the BJP does not want to face,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister challenged the BJP to oppose a similar survey being conducted by the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi if they are truly against the initiative. “Do you have the courage to stand before the Prime Minister and say this? If not, then why are you fooling the people of Karnataka?” he questioned.
In a direct appeal to the public, Siddaramaiah urged citizens to reject the BJP’s “political statements” and participate fully in the socio-economic survey to help build a more just and equal society.
