After nearly four days of intense and uncomfortable heat, Bhatkal finally witnessed a spell of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning today, offering much-needed relief to residents. The change in weather brought down temperatures and increased humidity in the air, easing the oppressive heat that had gripped the region.
Locals welcomed the rain, calling it a refreshing break after the sweltering conditions. However, the sudden downpour caused some disruption, particularly for those who were out shopping or commuting. Many people were caught in the rain and had to wait for it to subside before continuing with their plans.
The rain, which began shortly after the night prayer (Isha), was still ongoing until 10 PM at the time of reporting.
Weather experts have predicted the possibility of light to moderate rain in Bhatkal and surrounding areas over the next few days. With a drop in daytime temperatures and increased humidity, the heat is expected to feel less intense, while nights may become cooler and more pleasant.
