The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has announced that Sheikh Dr. Yasir bin Rashid Al-Dossary will lead the Friday prayer and deliver the Khutbah (sermon) at the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Friday, January 9, 2026 (20 Rajab 1447 AH).

Sheikh Al-Dossary, who serves as an Imam and Khateeb (preacher) at Al-Masjid Al-Haram, is well-known among worshippers and pilgrims for his spiritual guidance and eloquent speeches. The announcement was made through an official poster released by the mosque authorities.

The poster also named Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Awad Al-Juhany as the reserve preacher, who will step in if Sheikh Al-Dossary is unable to attend for any reason.
