The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has confirmed that Sheikh Dr. Maher bin Hamad Al-Muaiqly, Imam and Khatib of Masjid al-Haram, will lead the Friday prayer and deliver the sermon this week.

The Jumu’ah prayer is set for 8 Shawwal 1447 AH at the Grand Mosque in Makkah — the holiest site in Islam, where millions of worshippers gather every week from across the world.

As part of standard practice, a standby preacher has also been named. His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid will serve as the backup Khatib, ready to step in if required.

Sheikh Al-Muaiqly is one of the most recognized voices in the Muslim world, widely known for his recitation of the Holy Quran and his weekly sermons that are broadcast globally and followed by millions of Muslims.

The General Presidency regularly announces Friday sermon arrangements in advance, allowing worshippers and visitors to Makkah to plan accordingly.
