Bengaluru: Sheikh Latif has officially assumed charge as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Karnataka State Waqf Board.

Board Chairman Syed Muhammad Ali Al-Hussaini welcomed the appointment and said Latif’s administrative background would help improve the Board’s overall functioning. He expressed confidence that the new CEO would contribute to strengthening institutional systems and ensuring better management of Waqf assets.

According to the Chairman, the Board will prioritise the protection, development and proper supervision of Waqf properties across Karnataka. He added that efforts would also be made to enhance service-oriented initiatives through transparent governance and effective implementation of welfare programmes for the community.

Speaking after taking charge, Sheikh Latif said he would carry out his responsibilities with honesty and dedication. He stressed that safeguarding Waqf properties and protecting public interest would remain his top priorities. He also underlined the need to improve administrative efficiency, accountability and transparency within the Board.

A senior officer of the Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS), Latif has previously served in various government departments, including the Minorities Department.

His appointment has been welcomed by members of the Board as well as community leaders.
