Sheikh Khaled Muhanna Delivers Friday Sermon at the Prophet’s Mosque

On Friday, 13 Rabi Al-Awwal 1447 AH, Sheikh Dr. Khaled Muhanna, Imam and Khateeb of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, delivered the Friday sermon focusing on justice, safeguarding people’s rights, and the importance of following the guidance of Islam.
Sheikh Muhanna reminded worshippers that refraining from harming others is a right owed by every Muslim to his fellow believer, and those who uphold this earn a high status with Allah, becoming among the best of people.
He outlined that the greatest forms of injustice fall under three categories: violations of life, property, and honor. This, he said, was among the final and most important reminders given by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during his farewell sermon at Mina.
The sermon also warned against belittling sins, noting that negligence in avoiding them could lead to the loss of good deeds, even for those who are active in worship.
Sheikh Muhanna stressed that true salvation lies in fulfilling obligations while also safeguarding the rights of others. On the Day of Judgment, he said, rights will not be settled with wealth but through justice, either by losing one’s good deeds or bearing the sins of others.
Among the gravest injustices highlighted was swearing falsely to unlawfully acquire someone’s wealth, along with cheating and deceit in business. Such acts, he warned, bring severe consequences in the Hereafter.
Concluding the sermon, Sheikh Muhanna urged Muslims to increase their prayers and peace upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, describing it as a sign of true love and devotion that brings forgiveness and immense reward.
