The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has announced that Sheikh Professor Dr. Faisal bin Jameel Al-Ghazawi, Imam and Khatib of Masjid al-Haram, will deliver the Friday sermon and lead the Jumu’ah prayer this week.

The prayer is scheduled for 15 Shawwal 1447 AH at the Grand Mosque in Makkah — the most sacred place on earth for Muslims, which draws worshippers from every corner of the globe every single week.

In line with the usual practice, a backup preacher has also been appointed. His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid will be on standby as the alternate Khatib, ready to step in if needed.

Sheikh Al-Ghazawi is a well-respected scholar and a senior Imam at Masjid al-Haram. His sermons are widely followed by Muslims around the world through live broadcasts and online platforms.

The General Presidency makes these announcements ahead of time each week, keeping worshippers, pilgrims, and visitors to Makkah informed about who will be leading the Friday prayer.
