Senior MLA RV Deshpande Denies Criticizing Siddaramaiah Government’s Guarantee Schemes
Congress leader clarifies remarks made at Dandeli, says he supports CM’s pro-people initiatives.

Karwar: Senior Congress MLA R.V. Deshpande has clarified that his recent remarks made during an event in Dandeli were misinterpreted, and reaffirmed his support for the five guarantee schemes launched by the Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government.
In a press release issued on Sunday, Deshpande said he has not opposed the guarantee schemes but has in fact appreciated them as initiatives aimed at uplifting financially weaker sections of society.
“Some people have misunderstood my words and it is unfortunate that fake news is being spread suggesting that I opposed the schemes,” he said.
Deshpande emphasised that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is a seasoned leader with a strong commitment to public welfare, and the guarantee schemes reflect his vision for inclusive development.
“At no point did I say that the government is facing financial difficulties due to the schemes. On the contrary, I have praised the pro-people governance of this administration,” he added.
The clarification comes amid growing political attention on the financial sustainability and impact of the five major welfare guarantees being implemented by the Karnataka government.
