Bangalore | 21 August 2025 – The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) organized a special conference titled “Save Waqf, Save Constitution” in Bangalore, dedicated for women participants. The key address was delivered by Maulana Umrain Mahfooz Rahmani, General Secretary of AIMPLB, who stressed the religious and social significance of Waqf properties and urged collective efforts to protect them.

Speaking to a packed gathering, Maulana Rahmani reminded the audience that Waqf is not just a matter of property management but a deeply religious obligation in Islam. He explained that contributions made in the form of Waqf are meant to serve Allah’s creation for generations, and therefore must remain protected.

Highlighting examples from Islamic history, he referred to the sacrifices of women such as Hazrat Khadija (RA), Hazrat Aisha (RA), and Queen Zubayda, who contributed wealth and resources in the path of Allah. He noted that their generosity and vision set a precedent for women’s active participation in safeguarding community assets and values.

Maulana Rahmani strongly criticized attempts to weaken or misuse Waqf properties through legal or administrative loopholes. “Waqf is a religious trust, not just a managerial matter,” he said, urging the community to remain united in defending these assets. He emphasized that neglecting Waqf would mean betraying the sacrifices of forefathers who dedicated their lands and wealth for the welfare of future generations.

Addressing the women present, he said their role is crucial not only in protecting Waqf but also in strengthening Islamic identity within families. He urged mothers to instill faith, modesty, and moral values in their children, reminding them that the survival of Muslim identity depends on the preservation of both religion and culture.

The programme also saw participation from AIMPLB members, scholars, and local representatives of different organizations. Several preparatory meetings were held across Bangalore in the run-up to the event, drawing large participation from women.

In conclusion, Maulana Rahmani encouraged continued efforts under AIMPLB’s guidance, assuring the audience that with unity, faith, and determination, the mission to safeguard Waqf and constitutional rights will succeed, God willing.
