  • Published OnAugust 21, 2025

Bengaluru witnessed a significant gathering on August 21, 2025, as the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) organized the “Save Waqf, Save Constitution Conference” exclusively for women. This event is part of a nationwide movement against the recent amendments to the Waqf Act, which AIMPLB believes threaten Islamic values, religious freedoms, and the Indian Constitution.

The conference, held at Eidgaah Quddus Sahab, brought together women from the community to discuss the impact of the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025. AIMPLB views these legislative changes as an intrusion into Muslim personal law and an attack on the management and protection of Waqf properties.

In a strong message to the government, AIMPLB urged peaceful protests and legal action to defend constitutional guarantees and communal harmony. Women’s participation in this movement underscores the importance of including all community members in protecting their rights and religious heritage.

This event in Bengaluru is one among many organized by AIMPLB across India to raise awareness and build support against the amendments. Activities such as wearing black armbands, engaging in public discussions, and holding press conferences highlight the community’s united opposition to the amendments.

The AIMPLB’s campaign continues to gain momentum with a clear focus on safeguarding religious freedoms and ensuring transparent management of Waqf properties, while appealing to the government to reconsider the amendments for the benefit of communal peace and constitutional integrity.
