The reported attack comes amid an escalating regional conflict, with Israel and the United States intensifying strikes on Iran. US President Donald Trump said the campaign could continue for several weeks.

Tehran and its allies have responded with strikes across the region, targeting Israel as well as sites inside Gulf states, including energy facilities in Qatar and American diplomatic missions. On Monday, the US Embassy compound in Kuwait was also reportedly struck.

The rising intensity of hostilities has heightened fears of a prolonged conflict, with ripple effects across the Middle East. Aviation routes have been disrupted, energy prices have surged, and several countries have stepped up air defence measures to counter missile and drone attacks.

Authorities have yet to release further information regarding the extent of damage or any casualties in Riyadh.
