Saudi Arabia Introduces “Nusuk Umrah” Platform for Direct Visa Applications

Riyadh, August 20: The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has unveiled a new digital service called “Nusuk Umrah”, designed to simplify the process for international pilgrims wishing to perform Umrah. Through this platform, applicants can now directly apply for Umrah visas online, bypassing the need for traditional agents or middlemen.
Accessible at umrah.nusuk.sa, the Nusuk Umrah portal gives pilgrims from around the world the ability to complete all formalities electronically — from submitting the visa application to receiving approval. The service also allows users to explore and book a variety of packages, accommodations, and related services tailored to different preferences and budgets.
While the platform offers direct access, it still provides details of licensed travel agents in different countries for those who prefer assistance through certified agencies.
Officials from the Ministry highlighted that this initiative falls in line with Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to enhance the pilgrim experience, improve efficiency in services, and make the spiritual journey more accessible for Muslims worldwide.
The move is expected to reduce procedural hurdles while giving pilgrims greater transparency, convenience, and flexibility in planning their trip to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
