Saudi Arabia has officially declared a four-day public holiday for Eid Al Fitr 2026 for employees in both the government and private sectors across the Kingdom.

Authorities announced on Wednesday, March 4, that the holiday will begin on Wednesday, March 18, corresponding to the 29th day of Ramadan (1447 AH). The break will continue for four days, with regular working hours set to resume on Sunday, March 22.

Officials noted that the final date of Eid Al Fitr will depend on the sighting of the Ramadan crescent moon, which will determine the exact end of the holy month.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has also confirmed its Eid Al Fitr holiday schedule for both federal and private sector employees.

For federal government workers in the UAE, the holiday will begin on Thursday, March 19, 2026, and run until Sunday, March 22, 2026. Official duties will resume on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Private sector employees in the UAE will observe the holiday from Thursday, March 19, until Saturday, March 21, 2026. Those who usually work on Sundays will return to work on Sunday, March 22.

UAE authorities further clarified that if Ramadan lasts 30 days, the private sector holiday will be extended by an additional day, covering Sunday, March 22, 2026.

The announcements provide clarity for residents and businesses as they prepare for Eid Al Fitr celebrations across the Gulf region.
