Salat Al Khusuf (Lunar Eclipse Prayer) to Be Held at the Two Holy Mosques on 7 September 2025

The Salat Al Khusuf, a special prayer performed during a lunar eclipse, will take place at the Two Holy Mosques on Sunday, 7 September 2025, corresponding to the 15th of Rabi Al Awwal 1447 in the Islamic calendar, God willing.
This practice is based on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said, “The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of someone’s death. So whenever you witness these eclipses, pray and invoke Allah until the eclipse is over.”
Residents and visitors are encouraged to participate in this prayer, which is a significant religious act during the event of a lunar eclipse. It serves as a reminder to seek closeness to Allah through prayer and supplication during this natural phenomenon.
