Road Work Resumes on Key Bhatkal Highway One Month After Fatal Accident
BHATKAL: After a delay of one month, the contracting company has finally restarted repair work on the main highway in Bhatkal, stretching from the city bus stand to the downtown area. The decision comes after intense public pressure following a series of road accidents caused by the highway’s poor condition.
Last month, the neglected road led to a major accident that resulted in the death of one person and injuries to three others. The incident sparked public anger, with citizens and local media holding the construction company responsible for the dangerous conditions.
