Repair Work Finally Begins on Dilapidated Tenginagundi Cross Road in Bhatkal

BHATKAL – Residents and commuters can now feel a sense of relief as repair work has officially begun on the severely damaged Tenginagundi Cross road, a major route connecting to the main highway.
The road had been in a terrible state for a long time, causing significant problems for the thousands of people who use it daily. The situation became so bad that a Heble Panchayat member, Syed Ali, had to bring the issue to the attention of the Chief Minister’s Office through a tweet.
Following the tweet, officials quickly started the repair work, but it was unexpectedly halted, leaving open drains and causing a bad smell in the area. This sudden stop led to widespread concern and frustration among the local community.
The issue gained more attention after a local resident posted a video on WhatsApp. The video highlighted the dangerous condition of the road, mentioned previous accidents, and urged the local MLA to take immediate action to prevent further trouble for the public.
The good news is that the work has now resumed. Crews are currently digging up the entire stretch from the main highway to the Madina Colony First Cross. They are removing mud and debris to rebuild the road properly. It is hoped that the project will be completed quickly.
This road is crucial for the town as it leads to many important places, including schools, colleges, madrasas, Jamia Abad, Heble, and the Tenginagundi port.
With this road now under repair, residents are also calling for authorities to fix the road opposite Dr. Noman’s clinic, which is also reported to be in very poor condition.
