Red Fort Car Blast Case: FIR Filed Against Al-Falah University, Several Doctors and Traders Detained
Delhi Crime Branch expands probe; multiple detentions, document seizures, and accusations of harassment reported in Palwal and Faridabad.
Following the Red Fort car blast, Al-Falah University has come under the scanner of the Delhi Crime Branch. On Saturday, two FIRs were registered against the institution over allegations of fraud and fake accreditation. Both NAAC and the UGC have also initiated action regarding the university’s affairs. Investigators have sought all relevant documents from the university’s Okhla office.
As part of the ongoing probe, five doctors and two fertilizer traders have been detained for questioning. According to police sources, some of the doctors were picked up from Delhi and others from Mewat. Officials say that the purchase and sale of fertilizers are being examined, as components used in the blast were reportedly derived from fertilizer materials. Reports about Dr. Shaheen allegedly attempting to flee to Dubai have prompted investigators to look into possible foreign links as well.
A new video of Dr. Mohammad Umar Nabi—who died in the blast—has surfaced. The footage shows him sitting at a shop to charge his phone, 12 days before the explosion. Investigators believe the video could be a significant piece of evidence.
Meanwhile, residents in Palwal and Faridabad have accused the police of harassment after the blast. Several mosque imams have reportedly been questioned, creating fear among the local Muslim community. The Superintendent of Police in Palwal has ordered heightened security and strict surveillance across the district, including intensive checks at religious sites.
Mewat is being identified as a key point in the supply chain of explosive materials. Several doctors from the region have already been detained, and a total of 22 doctors associated with Al-Falah University are believed to be under investigation.
