The first phase of polling in the state recorded the highest voter turnout in its history, marking a strong start to the ongoing elections. Officials reported enthusiastic participation across constituencies, with long queues seen outside several polling booths throughout the day.

Election Commission data indicated that turnout figures surpassed previous records, reflecting heightened public engagement and interest in the electoral process. Authorities also confirmed that polling remained largely peaceful, with only a few minor incidents reported.

Reacting to the turnout, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) had taken a “massive lead” in the initial phase. Addressing supporters, the Prime Minister said the people’s overwhelming participation reflected their trust in the government’s policies and its vision for development.

Opposition parties, however, have maintained that the results will ultimately reflect public dissatisfaction with rising inflation and unemployment, insisting that high turnout indicates a “desire for change.”

The Election Commission is expected to release detailed constituency-wise data soon, while preparations are underway for the second phase of voting, scheduled in the coming days.
