Ramadan to Begin in Bhatkal; First Taraweeh Tonight

Bhatkal (Fikrokhabar News): The holy month of Ramadan will begin in Bhatkal and surrounding areas from this evening after Maghrib prayers, as the 30th day of Sha’ban is being completed locally.

In many parts of the country, today marks the 29th of Sha’ban, and there are strong expectations of moon sighting. With the confirmation of the new moon, the blessed month of Ramadan will formally commence in Bhatkal from Maghrib, and the first Taraweeh prayers will be offered tonight.

All major and smaller mosques across the town have completed preparations for Taraweeh prayers. In view of the expected large turnout, special arrangements have been made for proper row management, sound systems and lighting. Several mosques have appointed four Huffaz each to lead the Taraweeh prayers, where the Holy Quran will be recited melodiously throughout the month.

A spirit of devotion and enthusiasm is clearly visible across the town. Families are busy preparing to welcome Ramadan, while markets are witnessing increased shopping activity ahead of the fasting month.

Religious scholars and community leaders have urged people to make the most of the blessed days by increasing acts of worship, recitation of the Quran, remembrance of Allah and charitable activities. Imams of various mosques have also emphasized the importance of unity, brotherhood and serving humanity during Ramadan.

Residents are hopeful that this Ramadan will prove to be spiritually more rewarding than previous years.
