Rabi-ul-Awwal Crescent Sighted in Bhatkal
Bhatkal, 24 August 2025 (Fikrokhabar News): According to the official announcement from the Qazis of Bhatkal, the crescent moon of the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1447 Hijri was sighted locally in Bhatkal on Sunday evening.
As per the confirmation, the first day of Rabi-ul-Awwal will be observed on Monday, 25th August 2025.
On the occasion of sighting the new crescent, it is Sunnah to recite the following prophetic supplication:
اللهم اهله علينا بالامن و الايمان والسلامة والاسلام ربي وربك الله هلال رشد و خير
(Translation: O Allah, let this moon appear to us with safety, faith, peace, and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah. It is a crescent of guidance and goodness.)
Muslims worldwide attach special significance to this blessed month due to its deep spiritual and historical value. The community is hopeful that this new month will bring peace, blessings, and security for the entire Ummah.
The Qazis and scholars of Bhatkal prayed for the well-being of humanity and urged everyone to use this opportunity to strengthen their faith and good deeds.
