Valki (Fikrokhabar News): To mark the reconstruction and expansion of the historic Jama Masjid in Valke, a large public meeting was organised under the theme “Challenges Faced by Indian Muslims and Their Solutions.” The programme was held on Thursday, January 1, after Isha prayers at the Jama Masjid valki premises and witnessed the participation of a large number of scholars, social leaders and local residents.

Addressing the gathering, All India Muslim Personal Law Board General Secretary Maulana Fazlur Rahaman Mujaddidi delivered a thought-provoking and detailed speech. Referring to India’s history, he said that interference in Muslim religious affairs began during British rule. Although a secular Constitution guaranteeing religious freedom was adopted after Independence, he noted with concern that Muslims continue to face difficulties in practicing their faith, partly due to their own negligence and changing political circumstances.

Maulana Mujaddidi stressed that the present situation demands greater awareness among Muslims. He urged the community to fully follow Islamic teachings in their personal lives and to remain vigilant in protecting their constitutional rights within the legal framework.

Senior leader of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Karnataka, Abdul Majeed Mysuru, also addressed the meeting. Highlighting the challenges facing the Muslim community, he said that while opposing forces are progressing rapidly, Muslims are moving slowly, resulting in setbacks in social, educational and political spheres. He called for courage, wisdom, unity and a strong connection with faith to face current challenges.

During the programme, Ahmad Sukri, General Secretary of Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen Valki, presented a detailed report appreciating the collective efforts of Valki residents in rebuilding the historic mosque.

President of Majlis Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal, Inayatullah Shahbandari, emphasised the importance of involving non-Muslim fellow citizens on the occasion of the mosque’s reopening. He suggested organising an introductory programme titled “Masjid Darshan” to promote understanding and harmony.

Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen Valki President Aslam Valki also shared his views. The event was conducted by Maulana Fayyaz Nadvi. In the presidential address, Dr Abdullah Sukri described Maulana Mujaddidi’s speech as comprehensive and thought-provoking, and urged Indian Muslims to learn lessons from the historical experience of Muslims in Spain.

The programme concluded with special appreciation for those who contributed generously to the mosque’s construction and those who actively supervised and participated in the building work. The gathering ended with a collective prayer.
