Pro-Palestine Protest Held Outside McDonald’s in Delhi, Boycott Call Intensifies
Activists urge public to support global BDS movement and raise concerns over corporate involvement

A group of pro-Palestine activists gathered outside a McDonald’s outlet in the Janpath area of New Delhi on April 3, calling for a consumer boycott as part of a wider global campaign.
The demonstration was organised by the Indian People in Solidarity with Palestine and took place as a flash protest aimed at raising awareness about corporate involvement in the ongoing situation affecting Palestinians.
Protesters engaged with the public through slogans, pamphlet distribution, and conversations with passers-by. They encouraged people to support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, which advocates economic pressure on companies linked to Israel.
Organisers said the protest was intended to highlight issues of corporate accountability in conflict zones and to mobilise public opinion on the matter.
The demonstration comes amid continued tensions in West Asia, with activists linking their campaign to recent developments in the region.
During the protest, a participant named Rauf alleged that McDonald’s had supported Israeli forces by providing meals, and criticised the company’s actions.
The group also raised concerns about the operations of Coca-Cola. Activists referred to reports by organisations such as WhoProfits, claiming that a franchise associated with the company operates in areas connected to Israeli settlements, an issue that remains internationally debated.
Another speaker, Yogesh, spoke about the situation of Palestinian prisoners, expressing concern over recent legal developments and urging people to raise their voices against what he described as unjust policies.
In a statement, the IPSP said their campaign is rooted in human rights, adding that supporting Palestine is about standing with an oppressed population seeking justice and dignity, rather than a matter of religion.
