Congress General Secretary and Lok Sabha MP Priyanka Gandhi has strongly criticised the ruling government, accusing it of repeatedly disrupting parliamentary proceedings and preventing the opposition from speaking.

Speaking to reporters inside the Parliament complex, she alleged that the Modi government wants to project that only its voice matters in the House. “They think they can make anyone stand up and say whatever they want, but they will not allow the Leader of the Opposition to speak. This will not be tolerated,” she said.

Priyanka Gandhi also referred to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s leadership, saying she never hesitated to take difficult decisions. In contrast, she claimed the current government lacks courage. “Indira Gandhi never stepped back from taking decisions. She did not hide in a room saying she wouldn’t act. She came forward and took bold decisions. A country cannot be run the way Narendra Modi is running it today,” she said.

A video of her remarks was shared by the Congress party on its official social media account. In the clip, Priyanka Gandhi says opposition leaders are not in Parliament to waste time. “We are not standing here to waste time. The people have sent us here with their valuable votes so that we can raise their voice,” she said.

She added that the opposition would continue to protest until the Leader of the Opposition is allowed to speak. Expressing sharp criticism of the government, she said, “This is the first time in history that a government itself is disrupting Parliament, because facts about them are coming out.”
