PM Modi’s Udupi Visit: Authorities Announce Traffic Diversions on November 28
Major route restrictions to remain in effect from 9 AM to 3 PM across key city areas

Udupi – City authorities have announced extensive traffic restrictions and alternate routes in Udupi ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit on November 28, 2024.
Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T K issued the traffic management order, which will be enforced between 9 AM and 3 PM on the day of the visit.
Complete Road Closure
A major corridor spanning from Adi Udupi to Sri Krishna Math will be entirely closed to vehicular traffic. The restricted stretch includes Karavali Junction, Bannanje, City Bus Stand, and Kalsanka areas.
Alternate Routes for Motorists
Authorities have outlined specific diversions based on entry points:
From Kundapura: Motorists must take the Karavali Flyover route, passing through Ambalpadi, Brahmagiri, and Jodukatte to reach the city center.
From Manipal: Vehicles and buses will be redirected via Sharadha Kalyana Mantapa, Beedinagudde, and Mission Compound.
From Mangaluru: Traffic will enter through Kinnimulki Swagatha Gopura and continue via Jodukatte.
From Malpe: All vehicles must reroute through Kuthpady and Ambalpadi to access city areas.
From Ambagilu: Motorists will be diverted via Gundibail, Doddangudde, and MGM College, then directed through Sharadha Kalyana Mantapa and Beedinagudde Road.
Local residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel accordingly and allow extra time for their journeys. The traffic restrictions are being implemented as a security measure during the Prime Minister’s visit to the coastal city.
