PM Modi Visits Udupi, Addresses Public Gathering
Prime Minister attends cultural event in Udupi with approximately one lakh participants

Udupi, November 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Udupi on Friday to participate in a large public gathering organized at the Sri Krishna Mutt premises.
Speaking at the event, Modi began his address in Kannada and interacted with attendees, including children who had prepared drawings for the occasion. He requested the children to write their addresses on the artwork so he could acknowledge their efforts.
During his speech, Modi referenced the political history of Udupi, noting that V.S. Acharya of the Jana Sangh was elected to the Udupi City Council in 1968, which he described as significant for the party’s presence in the region.
The Prime Minister discussed government policies and welfare schemes, including references to the ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ initiative and the Ayushman Bharat program.
He also spoke about national security matters, stating that India maintains a firm position on defense and peacekeeping.
The gathering was attended by several prominent figures including Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, MPs Kota Srinivasa Poojary and B.Y. Raghavendra, MLAs Yashpal Suvarna, Kiran Kumar Kodgi, and Suresh Gurme, as well as BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra and other officials.
Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, extensive security arrangements were put in place by the Special Protection Group (SPG), intelligence agencies, and local police. All attendees underwent thorough security screening before being allowed entry to the venue.
