New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences on Friday following the loss of lives in Sri Lanka due to Cyclone Ditwah. He announced that India has sent urgent relief supplies to help the island nation recover from the natural disaster.
In his message, PM Modi offered prayers for those affected by the cyclone. “My heartfelt condolences to the people of Sri Lanka who have lost their loved ones due to Cyclone Ditwah. I pray for the safety, comfort and swift recovery of all affected families,” he said.
The Prime Minister confirmed that India has quickly sent relief materials and humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka under a special mission called Operation Sagar Bandhu. This operation shows India’s commitment to supporting its closest maritime neighbor during times of crisis.
Modi also assured that India is prepared to provide additional help as the situation develops. “We stand ready to provide more aid and assistance as the situation evolves,” he added, emphasizing India’s solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka.
