Passing of Karnataka Ameer-e-Shariat Maulana Sagheer Ahmed Rashadi and Dr Mohammad Manzoor Alam Is an Irreparable Loss: AIMPLB
All India Muslim Personal Law Board expresses deep grief over the demise of two of its senior founding members.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has expressed profound sorrow over the demise of its senior founding members, Karnataka Ameer-e-Shariat Hazrat Maulana Sagheer Ahmed Rashadi and noted Islamic scholar and thinker Dr Mohammad Manzoor Alam, describing their passing as an irreparable loss to the nation and the Muslim community.
In a press statement, AIMPLB General Secretary Maulana Mohammad Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi conveyed deep condolences on the demise of Maulana Sagheer Ahmed Rashadi and Dr Mohammad Manzoor Alam, former chairman of the Institute of Objective Studies (IOS). He said their deaths have created a void not only in the Board but also in the wider religious and intellectual circles of the country.
Maulana Mujaddidi said that Maulana Sagheer Ahmed Rashadi was a distinguished Islamic scholar and a highly respected figure in Karnataka. He served as the Mohtamim and Shaikh-ul-Hadith of Darul Uloom Sabeelur Rashad, a prominent Islamic seminary in Bengaluru, and also held the position of Ameer-e-Shariat of Karnataka. He was widely respected across religious and community circles in the state.
He recalled that just a year ago, the AIMPLB general body meeting was successfully held at Darul Uloom Sabeelur Rashad under the patronage and supervision of Maulana Rashadi. The arrangements and hospitality during the event were widely appreciated by board members and delegates. His passing, he said, is a major loss to the Board as well as to the community at large.
The statement also expressed grief over the demise of Dr Mohammad Manzoor Alam, another senior founding member of the Board. Dr Alam was the founder of the Institute of Objective Studies and several other community organisations. A well-known intellectual and thinker, he played a key role in establishing IOS as a leading research institution and think tank. He was also among the founders of the Islamic Fiqh Academy and the All India Milli Council.
Maulana Mujaddidi noted that although Dr Mohammad Manzoor Alam had been suffering from prolonged illness, he remained actively engaged with issues concerning the nation and the Muslim community until his last days.
Praying for both the departed leaders, Maulana Mujaddidi said, “May Allah accept their lifelong services, grant them forgiveness, elevate their ranks in Jannatul Firdaus, and bestow patience upon their families and associates. May Allah grant the community suitable successors to continue their mission.”
