Palestinian Journalist Saleh Aljafarawi Killed in Gaza, Raising Media Death Toll
Israeli-backed gangs kill Palestinian journalist Saleh Al-Jaafrawi in Sabra neighborhood, Gaza City.

Palestinian journalist Saleh Aljafarawi was killed in Gaza City on Tuesday amid renewed clashes in the area, adding to the devastating toll on media professionals in the ongoing war.
Aljafarawi, 28, was well-known for his videos documenting the impact of the war on Gaza’s population. Footage verified by Al Jazeera’s Sanad fact-checking agency showed his body wearing a protective vest clearly marked “PRESS.”
The journalist had been displaced from northern Gaza earlier in the conflict. In previous statements, he reported receiving numerous threats from Israel due to his work.
His death coincides with reports of heavy fighting between Palestinian security forces and armed groups in Gaza City’s al-Sabra neighborhood.
According to press freedom organizations, more than 270 journalists and media workers have been killed in Gaza since the war began in October 2023, making it the deadliest conflict for journalists ever recorded.
