The forecast indicates that the district could experience intense rainfall ranging from $115.5$ mm to $204.5$ mm. An Orange Alert signifies a high level of preparedness, as the expected weather could potentially disrupt daily life, including transportation and power supply.

The same alert has also been extended to the neighboring coastal districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada.
