Sheikh Dr. Bandar bin Abdulaziz Baleelah has been appointed as the standby Imam.
The Presidency for the Affairs of the Imams and Muezzins at the Grand Mosque has announced that Sheikh Dr. Usamah bin Abdullah Khayyat will lead the upcoming Jumu’ah (Friday) prayer at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah.
Worshippers attending the sermon on Friday, October 3, 2025, which corresponds to the Islamic date 11 Rabi’ al-Akhir 1447, will be led by Sheikh Usamah Khayyat.
The announcement also named Sheikh Dr. Bandar bin Abdulaziz Baleelah as the standby Imam for the Friday prayer and sermon. Millions of Muslims are expected to attend the prayer at the Grand Mosque and watch the live broadcast from around the world.
