Nitish Kumar Set to Take Oath as Bihar Chief Minister for a Historic 10th Term
JD(U) chief unanimously elected NDA Legislature Party leader ahead of government formation

Janata Dal (United) president Nitish Kumar was on Wednesday, November 19, unanimously chosen as the leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Legislature Party, clearing the way for him to form the next government in Bihar. He will take oath as Chief Minister on November 20, marking a record 10th term in office.
Earlier in the day, Nitish Kumar was elected as the leader of the JD(U) Legislature Party during a meeting with newly elected MLAs at his official residence in Patna.
Meanwhile, at the BJP’s state headquarters, party leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were unanimously chosen as the leader and deputy leader of the BJP Legislature Party, respectively.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, appointed as the central observer for the Bihar Legislature Party meeting, proposed the names of Choudhary and Sinha. All BJP MLAs endorsed the proposal, paving the way for both leaders to continue as Deputy Chief Ministers, the same roles they held in the previous government.
Nitish Kumar’s 10th swearing-in marks yet another milestone in his long political career, as the NDA prepares to begin a new term in Bihar.
