New Shams School Dominates UKDFA Inter-School Football Tournament with Triple Victory
New Shams School emerged as the standout performer at the four-day UKDFA Inter-School Football Tournament, clinching championship titles in three age categories.

Bhatkal, November 24: New Shams School showcased exceptional football talent at the recently concluded UKDFA Inter-School Football Tournament, securing top honors in three different age groups and establishing itself as a powerhouse in district-level school football.
The tournament, which took place from November 20 to 23 at the Anjuman multipurpose ground, saw New Shams School claim victory in the Under-8, Under-12, and Under-14 categories, demonstrating consistent excellence across multiple age levels.
In the Under-8 division, New Shams School defeated Bibi Montessori School to lift the trophy. The team continued its winning streak in the Under-12 category, where they overcame Suffah Model School in the final. The school completed its hat-trick of titles by winning the competitive Under-14 championship, defeating Ali Public School (APS) to claim the top spot.
Individual brilliance from New Shams students was also recognized at the tournament. Sulaiman Musbah earned the Best Defender award in the Under-14 category, while Omer Armar was named Best Playmaker in the same age group.
The four-day tournament featured 21 schools from across the district, with over 60 matches played in six age categories: Under-6, Under-8, Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, and Under-17. The event was organized by UKDFA in association with Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce College.
Other notable performers at the tournament included Abdul Aleem, who won Best Goalkeeper in the Under-14 category, Hamza Damda, named Best Playmaker Under-10, and Hasan, who received the Player of the Tournament award in the Under-12 division.
The tournament drew large crowds of students, parents, and football enthusiasts, reflecting the growing popularity of the sport at the grassroots level in Bhatkal.
Tournament organizers praised the level of competition and expressed optimism about hosting an even bigger event next year to continue nurturing young football talent in the region.
