New Delhi (Fikrokhabar News): In a unified expression of solidarity with the people of Palestine, hundreds of citizens gathered at Jantar Mantar in the national capital on Sunday, responding to a nationwide call by Indian People in Solidarity with Palestine (IPSP) and BDS India. The protests condemned what organisers described as Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza and demanded an immediate halt to the violence.

The protest in Delhi saw participation from students, civil society activists, trade unions, and concerned citizens. Holding Palestinian flags and placards that read “Free Palestine”, “Ceasefire Now”, and “End the Occupation”, demonstrators raised powerful slogans like “Stop the genocide now!” and “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will Be Free.”

This protest was part of a coordinated national movement, with similar gatherings held in cities including Hyderabad, Patna, Kolkata, Lucknow, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and Pune. In each location, citizens assembled in prominent public spaces to denounce the rising civilian death toll in Gaza, which includes thousands of women and children.

Speakers in Delhi highlighted India’s historical support for the Palestinian cause, urging the government to break its silence and take a principled stand. Several speakers demanded that India suspend military and trade relations with Israel, in line with its anti-colonial legacy.

Protest leaders also encouraged citizens to support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement by boycotting Israeli goods and companies involved in the occupation.

A minute of silence was observed in memory of the victims in Gaza. Protesters held banners with messages such as “End the Apartheid” and “Justice for Palestine.”

The demonstrations concluded peacefully, with organizers pledging to intensify their campaign and continue mobilizing across the country until international pressure compels Israel to end its military assault on Gaza. They also appealed to the broader Indian public to raise their voices against war crimes and stand firmly for human rights, justice, and peace.

These protests reflect a growing wave of public conscience in India, showing that solidarity with Palestine remains strong, principled, and deeply rooted in humanitarian values.
