Bhatkal: (Fikrokhabar News) National Education Day was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm at Maulana Azad Public School, Bhatkal, commemorating the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister. The event honored his contributions to education and the nation.

The program was inaugurated by Shri Sunil Yam, Executive Officer of Taluka Panchayat Bhatkal, and presided over by Mr. Abdul Raqeeb MJ, General Secretary of Majlis-e-Islah o Tanzeem Bhatkal. In his address, he highlighted the organization’s ongoing efforts to promote education and the contemporary relevance of Maulana Azad’s ideas.

Dr. Haneef Shabab, renowned poet and senior journalist, spoke as the special guest, emphasizing Maulana Azad’s vision of education not merely as a tool for degrees or employment, but as a means to foster national awareness, intellectual freedom, and social solidarity. He noted that Maulana Azad’s efforts laid the foundation for India’s prominent role in global education today.

The event included a procession promoting national unity, led by students, teachers, and officials, and began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Several prominent social and educational figures attended, including Mr. Fayyaz Mulla, Mr. Atiqur Rahman Shabandari, Maulana Syed Azhar Barmawar Nadvi, and Mr. Mubashir Hallare.

Shamsuddin Sahib, headmaster of the school, spoke about the school’s progress and future plans, acknowledging the support of District Minister Mankal Vaidya in reviving the institution. Education from LKG to PUC is now running regularly, and he appealed to the community and local institutions for continued cooperation.

The program concluded with students and teachers pledging to uphold Maulana Azad’s educational ideals, emphasizing the role of education in nation-building and human development.
