A group of Muslim students travelling from Hyderabad to Uttar Pradesh for examinations at Darul Uloom Deoband were allegedly threatened at a railway station in Delhi on March 26, 2026.

According to reports, one of the students recorded a video of the incident, which later circulated widely on social media. The footage shows the students standing quietly on the platform, identifiable by their traditional attire, including skullcaps and beards.

In the video, a saffron-clad man is seen approaching the group and issuing verbal threats in Hindi, warning them against cow slaughter and allegedly threatening violence if they did not comply. The students, however, did not respond and remained calm throughout the encounter.

The student who shared the video described the incident as a case of identity-based targeting. He stated that the group was simply waiting for their connecting train and had not engaged in any activity that could provoke such behavior. He also expressed concern that situations like this could escalate or lead to false accusations against visibly Muslim individuals.

He urged fellow students travelling for the Deoband examinations to remain cautious and avoid confrontation. “They may try to provoke you into reacting,” he advised, encouraging others to stay calm and walk away from similar situations.

Darul Uloom Deoband, located in Saharanpur, is one of India’s oldest and most respected institutions for Islamic education. Every year, it attracts thousands of students from across the country and abroad for its examinations.

The incident has triggered discussions online about religious tensions and the safety of students, especially those from minority communities travelling across regions. As of now, no official statement has been released by authorities regarding the incident.
