Millions of Muslims around the world are preparing to celebrate Eid, and for those attending prayers at one of Islam’s holiest sites, the arrangements are now officially confirmed.

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has announced that Eid prayer at Masjid an-Nabawi — the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah — will be held at 6:40 AM this year, corresponding to 1447 AH on the Islamic Hijri calendar.

Sheikh Dr. Salah bin Muhammad Al-Budayr, the official imam and khateeb of Masjid an-Nabawi, will lead the congregation. Sheikh Al-Budayr is one of the most recognized and respected Islamic scholars in Saudi Arabia, known for his powerful recitation and deeply moving sermons.

Should any unforeseen situation arise, Sheikh Dr. Ahmad bin Ali Al-Hudhayfi has been officially named as the backup preacher for the prayer.

Muslims searching for who will lead Eid prayer in Madinah today, or which imam is leading salah at the Prophet’s Mosque, can confirm that Sheikh Al-Budayr will be at the helm of this blessed occasion.

Worshippers are advised to arrive well before the scheduled time to secure their place inside the mosque. The prayer is expected to draw massive crowds both inside the mosque and in the surrounding courtyards.
